Wyatt and Maurice were just starting college 10 years ago, when they met as members of a literary publication. Both from the Philippines, and both focusing on non-artistic endeavors, Maurice in chemistry and engineering and Wyatt on business. They loved hanging out in the Publications Room together, talking about art, books and music. They shared a lot f common interests and their conversations flowed. Since Maurice was in graduate school in Davis, they decided to have a destination wedding here, in Sacramento at the The Firehouse in Old Sacramento

Their ceremony included many elements that were personal to them, including their friends who are musicians, He Sang She Sang who flew out from Georgia for the festivities and played "their" song, one very special to Maurice and Wyatt.

And a dear friend read them the poem "Ithaca" by Constantine Cavafy, telling the story of their journey together through school, living in the Philippines, long-distance through Maurice's graduate school, and now coming home.
