I am a woman who wears many hats (sparkly crowns?). First and foremost, I believe since I was quite small, I have been a Celebrant, though I did not know it at the time. Many of my own life experiences have left a clear and unmistakeable message behind -- that we desire, long for and need ritual and ceremony in order to meaningfully mark life's passages and move through transitions. Birth, marriage, death, divorce, coming of age (teens) and croning (women past menopause) are all significant life events and when we come together, whether as a couple or as a community, we allow others to share our joy and the event becomes all the more meaningful.
A paralegal by trade for 30 years, I've always been a seeker, seeking to learn more about myself, and always naturally curious about the lives and stories of others. In 2006 I completed training as a Life Coach (Coach U); in 2007 I became a Certified Retreat Coach (Retreat Coach Network) and in 2010 I became a Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant (Celebrant Foundation & Institute). I also hold a BA in English (U of Utah) and have a keen love of story and of writing. The combination of these trainings, combined with my skills as compassionate listener; inquisitive leader and joyous celebrant have led me to today and a practice that includes ceremonies of all kinds -- Weddings, Commitment Ceremonies, Home and Baby Blessings, Funerals and any other thing you might wish to celebrate! I also lead retreats and workshops for men & women focusing on growth and development, life planning, goal setting and general fun.
I'm a woman who strives and most generally succeeds in seeing the good in all things. I am a mother and grandmother, a lover of nature, believer in the power of taking time to go within, whether by meditation, journaling, a walk outside or time out for retreat. I believe in the bonds that are formed when people gather together to celebrate life's victories, or honor one's passing through.
Feel free to contact me. I'd love to hear your story. ♥
