House Blessing Ceremony
Many rituals can be used at a house blessing ceremony, depending on your personal taste and what you want to receive from the ceremony. This home blessing was a tribute to this woman's friendships, which supported her in getting the building she calls "home". Her theme of friendship ran throughout.
During the ceremony, I tell your story: we might light candles to honor those who cannot be present and you can also honor and thank those who are present.
A ceremony contains a symbolic rite of passage, a way for all the guests to acknowledge the individual and their new "status", in this case to new home-owner. We offer our blessings and good wishes to our friend as she makes this symbolic passage.
